Tuki Brando, grandson of actor Marlon Brando, and a young up-and-coming actor in his own right, has been named the new face of the Versace Fall 2007 men’s campaign. The handsome teenager, born to the late Tarita Cheyenne Brando, recently graced the cover of L’Uomo Vogue.
Indeed, Donatella Versace’s spring collection of muted and sober suiting, trenchcoats, classic polos with dress shirt collars, and pared-down accessories, none of which featured the astonishing prints of yesteryear, was likely a result of the proxomity of the 10th year anniversary of the death of her brother, Gianni Versace, and also due to the contributions of design consultant Alexandre Plokhov, the mastermind behind the now-defunct American label Cloak.
“It’s a new world of luxury under the sign of the Medusa,” the designer said. Brando’s assimilation into the fashion world appeared to be seamless: Not only did he pose for photos alongside Versace for countless paparazzi backstage, but he also showed off his athletic prowess at the afterparty, quashing his competitors in a mean game of table tennis.
